A mesmerising shot of of a Southern BobTail Squid (Euprymna tasmanica). Related to the Cuttle fish these animals are nocturnal and only grow to to a max of 6-7 cm Photographed in the shallows In South Australia. Bobtail squid have a symbiotic relationship with bioluminescent bacteria in which they use to morph color, truly amazing. This particular BobTail spotted it's reflection in the camera lens charged forward darkening in colour and raised it's tentacles in warning, made for an excellent shot, one of my favourites.
